JAX Chamber Foundation Funds:

Workforce Development

Access to a highly educated, skilled, and trained workforce is vital to our region’s competitiveness, and aligning educational systems with area business and industry demand is critical to our future success. The JAX Chamber Foundation helps fund a variety of programs designed to enhance workforce development in Northeast Florida, resulting in improved quality of life in our community and region.

Workforce Development connects young people with work experiences, provides industry internships for teachers, advocates for more college access points and engages employers in developing lifelong learning opportunities for their workforce. These initiatives help grow our region’s skilled labor, attracting new employers and advancing the economic health of our region and its residents.

Bruce Ferguson

Workforce development is the ‘people part’ of economic development. Our support provides measurable results in enhancing the quality of the workers in the region. We are always pursuing additional partners to join in this important effort.

Earn Up

Earn Up

The JAX Chamber Foundation/JAXUSA Partnership is a recipient of a grant that allows participation in the Lumina Foundation’s Community Partnership for Attainment program. As such, Earn Up has been established with the primary goal of increasing the current college attainment rate from 36 percent to 60 percent by 2025. This attainment level includes two- and four-year degrees, as well as certificates issued by postsecondary institutions and industry certifications. This will be accomplished with the support of valuable local business, university and college partners who commit both financial and in-kind staffing contributions.

The collaborative is promoting “higher earning through higher learning,” based on research that shows the single greatest predictor of economic success in a community is the number of degreed and industry-certified people who live there.
